Privacy Policy for Notif

Notif is an Android app that reads notifications aloud based on your settings.

1. Notification Listener Permission (Critical Permission)

Notif requires Android Notification Listener access (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE) to read notification content and perform readout.

This permission is used only to process notification content for app features such as readout and related policy controls.
Notif does not use this permission to build user profiles or sell personal information.
You can revoke notification listener access at any time in Android system settings (Notification Access).

2. Information We Process

Notif processes the following information on your device to provide core functionality:

Notification content (such as app name, title, and message text) so notifications can be formatted and read aloud.
App-level and settings preferences (for example, read/mute policy, readout options, and related configuration).

3. How Processing Works

Notification content is processed on-device to support readout.
Notif is designed with privacy mode and does not persist notification-content history locally.
We do not require account creation or sign-in.

4. Analytics and Firebase Data Collection

Notif uses Firebase Analytics to understand product usage and app behavior.

Notif-defined analytics events may include metadata such as:

app usage and feature interaction events,
settings and policy interaction events,
technical context (for example build type),
app package name metadata related to policy interactions.

Notif does not send notification message text content to analytics events.

Firebase may also automatically collect certain device/app identifiers and telemetry under Google’s own documentation and policies, which can include items such as:

app instance identifiers,
device and OS information,
approximate location inferred from IP address,
advertising identifiers (subject to device settings, platform behavior, and SDK configuration).

You can limit ad personalization and manage/reset advertising identifiers in Android privacy settings.

5. Third-Party Services

Notif uses the following third-party service:

Google Firebase Analytics: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

These services process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Security Measures

Data sent to Firebase Analytics is encrypted in transit (for example via HTTPS/TLS).
Local app data is stored within Android app sandbox storage.

7. International Data Transfers

Firebase/Google services may process data on servers located outside your country of residence (including the United States and other jurisdictions). Data protection laws in those jurisdictions may differ from those in your country.

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not provide account-based data brokerage or user-profile sale.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Settings and app configuration data are stored locally on your device.
You can clear app data or uninstall the app to remove locally stored app settings/data.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information related to the app’s processing activities. To make a request, contact us using the email below.

Because Notif is primarily local-device processing and does not require user accounts, our ability to identify and retrieve user-specific cloud records may be limited.

We will respond within 30 days” to set expectations (common practice for GDPR/PIPEDA compliance)

11. Children’s Privacy

Notif is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information in connection with this app, contact us and we will address the request.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at this same URL with an updated effective date.
